ARCNM reads the treatment — through-hardening, case hardening, induction hardening, nitriding, quench-and-temper, annealing, normalising and the rest of the ISO 4885 vocabulary, 38 kinds in all — extracts hardness and case depth per ISO 15787, and prices the step as a subcontract line with the order minimum a heat-treater charges. Heavier parts cost more to treat, the minimum amortises over the batch, and the lot-size curve shows where it stops dominating.

Which heat treatments are recognised and priced?

The full ISO 4885 register: the hardening family (through, surface, case, induction, flame, laser and electron-beam hardening), nitriding and nitrocarburising in their gas, plasma and salt-bath forms, thermochemical diffusion treatments (carburising, carbonitriding, boriding), quench-and-temper, austempering and martempering, the annealing family (normalising, soft annealing, spheroidising, stress-relief and bright annealing), solution treatment and ageing, sub-zero treatment and hydrogen-embrittlement relief. Each kind carries its ISO and German designation so the routing sheet names the step the way the standard does.

What drives the heat-treatment price?

The mass of the part first — heavier parts cost more to treat — then the treatment kind, and the order minimum, which dominates a small batch and fades with the lot. Your own heat-treater's price list replaces ARCNM's rates per environment, effective-dated, so a repeated calculation is reproducible.

How much does heat treatment cost per part?

It depends on the part's mass, the treatment kind and the heat-treater's order minimum spread over the batch. ARCNM reads the treatment from the drawing and shows the treatment cost and the minimum's share separately, so a small batch of case-hardened parts is visibly minimum-driven.

Can I use my own heat-treater's prices?

Yes. Subcontract rates per treatment kind are environment settings, validated on entry and effective-dated. They apply to every calculation in that environment.
